Fast schon bizarr, ein Auftritt von Mono mit einem Text anzukünden, deren rein instrumentale Stücke auch während eines Konzertes nicht von Worten umrahmt werden. Mehr braucht es eigentlich auch nicht, denn es wird kommuniziert, intensiv, mal leise, mal ausbrechend laut, mit Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug. Was man mit der Musik macht, mit was man sie assoziiert, ist jedem Hörer freigestellt.
Wenn man heute von der Verbindung zwischen den zwei musikalischen Welten Klassik und Rock spricht, kommt man an der Post-Rock Band aus Japan nicht vorbei. Ihre meist reinen Instrumentalkompositionen stehen in der Tradition des Noise-Rock von Sonic Youth oder von Bands wie My Bloody Valentine. Stilistisch werden die Klänge, die zwischen den Polen Ruhe und Sturm oszillieren, unter dem etwas schwammigen Begriff Postrock schubladisiert.
