Cinzia Catanias Stimme ist einzigartig – kristallklar und dennoch warm und weich. Sie bedient sich frech aus diversen Genres, gepaart mit eingängigen Songtexten und der richtigen Attitüde. Natürlich – kombinieren tut gerade jeder im Jazz. Aber nicht mit dieser Stimme, diesem Drive, Selbstbewusstsein, Sound und so einer Band! Cinzia zeigt klar an, wo sie sich und ihre Musik platziert haben will.
Die 28-jährige Sängerin Yumi Ito verwirklicht in diesem Projekt ihre Vision, für ein gemischtes Ensemble, bestehend aus klassischen, orchestralen Instrumenten wie der Harfe, Streich-Trio, Querflöte, Bassklarinette und ihrer Jazzband zu komponieren. Was den Gesang anbelangt, kombiniert sie eingängige Melodien mit ausdrucksstarken Lyrics und ungewohnten Klangfarben. Die spezielle Instrumentierung, wie auch die menschliche Konstellation dieser Band eröffnen ihr als Komponistin und Interpretin vielen neue klangliche Möglichkeiten.
