Statement von Gruff Rhys:
I'm extremely sorry to announce that my European tour will now start later in March due to Covid restrictions and their logistical repercussions.
The tour will now start on March 14th in Donostia, with the tour in Spain and France remaining intact but all preceding shows will not go ahead. Hoping I can return to those cities I’m missing out on this time as soon as it’s safe and possible. Much apologies for these changes especially if it effects any travel plans.
Gruff Rhys hat im Frühling 2021 das neue Album "Seeking New Gods" veröffentlich. Das Konzept des Albums sollte ursprünglich die Biographie eines Berges sein, des Mount Paektu (ein aktiver ostasiatischer Vulkan). Als Gruff jedoch begann, über die unmenschliche Zeitspanne der Existenz eines Gipfels und die intimen Merkmale, die ihn zu mythologischem Leben erwecken, zu reflektieren, wurden sowohl die Songs als auch der Berg immer persönlicher.
Gruff über das Album: "Das Album handelt von Menschen und Zivilisationen und den Räumen, die Menschen über Zeiträume hinweg bewohnen. Wie Menschen kommen und gehen, aber die Geologie bleibt und verändert sich langsamer. Ich denke, es geht um Erinnerung und Zeit", sagt er über die Bedeutung von «Seeking New Gods». "Es ist immer noch eine Biografie eines Berges, aber jetzt ist es ein Mount Paektu des Geistes. Man wird nicht viel über den wirklichen Berg lernen, wenn man diese Platte hört, aber man wird hoffentlich etwas fühlen." - Gruff Rhys.
