THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (USA) und SIAMESE (DK)
Manisch angetrieben von einer emotionalen Zerrissenheit, die die Band aufgrund der Pandemie selbst zu spüren bekam, nutzen die US-Amerikaner, eben genau diese Gefühle und pressen sie auf ihr Album "Manic". Jobverlust, Existenzverlust, Angst, der Boden der einen machtlos unter den Füssen weggezogen wird; WAGE WAR packen alles zusammen und lassen hier Dampf ab. Hakenschlagende Gitarrenriffs transportieren ein unruhiges Vibrieren, der Opener „Relapse“ geht direkt aufs Ganze und setzt auf einen eingängigen Refrain mit Cleangesang. Berstige Growls sorgen dafür, dass es trotz der Melodik noch schön düster bleibt. WAGE WAR liefern auf technisch hohem Niveau und lassen sich aktuell in der Discographie irgendwo zwischen Architects und While She Sleeps einordnen. Es ist nur noch eine Frage der Zeit bis die Band denselben Status innehat! Fehlen nur noch die Special Guests für eine perfekte Metalcore Party. Und wow; mit THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (USA) und SIAMESE (DK) sind zwei ganz grobe Kaliber dabei! Kinnlade unten? Gut so.
