Fans von HEATHEN haben es nicht leicht. Die Thrash Legende aus der Bay Area veröffentlichte mit „Breaking The Silence“ (1987) und „Victims Of Deception“ (1991) zwei herausragende Alben, um sich anschließend aufzulösen. 2001 die Wiedervereinigung, aber erst 2010 das dritte Album „The Evolution Of Chaos“, wieder auf enorm hohem Standard, dem nun nach 10 Jahren „Empire Of The Blind“ folgt. HEATHEN sind ihrem aggressivem und gleichermaßen melodischen Thrash Metal treu geblieben. Sensationelle Gitarrenduelle gibt es auch wieder mehrfach, man höre beispielsweise das progressive Instrumental „A Fine Red Mist“, in welchem auch die Gäste Gary Holt (EXODUS), Doug Piercy (ex-HEATHEN) und Rick Hunolt (ex-EXODUS) zusammen mit Lee Altus und Kragen Lum um die Wette spielen. Ein weiteres tolles Album in einer makellosen Diskografie.
